The IYSSE at SDSU’s rally in defense of immigrant rights

The IYSSE at SDSU has been a recognized student organization at the SDSU since 2008. We hold weekly meetings on theoretical, historical and political topics. In the past we have organized public lectures, film screenings, and rallies on campus, in addition to intervening in protests organized around San Diego.

In 2010 the IYSSE at SDSU led a student walk-out of over a thousand students in defense of public education. In 2013, as the Obama administration prepared a major military intervention in Syria, the IYSSE at SDSU held a protest against it on campus. Starting in 2015, with the war drive reaching fever pitch, the IYSSE at SDSU launched an anti-war campaign consisting in a series of meetings, campus and library displays.

Many of the leading figures of the international Trotskyist movement have given public lectures and speeches at meeting organized by the IYSSE at SDSU. They include the Chairman of the International Editorial  Board of the World Socialist Web Site (WSWS) David North, WSWS Arts Editor David Walsh, Socialist Equality Party candidate for president Jerry White, SEP National Secretary Joseph Kishore, and multiple WSWS reporters have spoken at IYSSE at SDSU meetings.

The IYSSE at SDSU meets every Tuesday at 7:00 PM in Room Metztli, Aztec Student Union 2nd Floor. Non-students are welcome to attend. For more information, see our Facebook page or email us at iysse.sdsu@gmail.com .
